I was quite pleased with a Canon S110 which I used for a few years before it dies from a "lens error, restart camera" message over and over. The SX620 should have been an easy upgrade. Not so, the main problem is that if you point you subject (usually a grand-kid) you can get the smile and a fuzzy picture or you get a nice face but the smile is long gone. The machine is too slow to adjust: too much software for the processor or a processor too slow for the software it has to go through before deciding if the picture is worth taking.
The manual is 347 page long, I read it but it is just overwhelming to assimilate and it is probably an indication that the camera was designed to be a jack of all trades but it is really a master of none.
