Sensational new evidence wrung out of the EU reveals, claims the author, industrial-scale institutionalised looting of British taxpayers’ money; indisputable evidence of endemic EU corruption and fraud; huge hidden cash piles as the EU demands more; uncontrolled migration across EU’s eastern borders totally ignored.
Illegal seizure of power and control from nation states; dilution of national identities by mass migration and imported criminality; secret committees endlessly planning new EU ‘law’; refusals by the Serious Fraud Office and Scotland Yard to examine unequivocal evidence of illegal payments to Brussels; EU officials deliberately misleading the House of Lords; millions in soft loans to the BBC to buy editorial support; and the European Central Bank authorising a flood of new 500-euro banknotes, used mainly by drug barons for money laundering.
There is also author's full story of the UK/EU’s connivance to throw him out of the European Parliament. It failed, but cost the British taxpayer over £1 million: “Brussels was no gravy train. This was politics with a passion. This was kill or be killed – and I almost was. I was also a known guerrilla inside the gates of the citadel. That’s what truly frightened them.”
Ashley Mote is a columnist, broadcaster and political campaigner with a special interest in British constitutional history. His first book - Vigilance - A Defence of British Liberty was one of the fastest-selling books about the EU ever published. His second political book, OverCrowded Britain was about the UK’s immigration crisis and was reprinted several times.
From 2004 to 2009 he sat as an independent member of the European Parliament, free to fight for the early withdrawal of the UK from the European Union and the restoration of government of the British by the British for the British. He claims to be one of the few people ever to seek elected political office with the sole intention of putting himself out of a job - a turkey voting for Christmas.

At a pre-election meeting of the regional committee one candidate had been seen, in the USA, talking to a high-ranking member of an ultra-right American party. It was published in the British press and when questioned at that meeting he said he had no idea that the person he was talking to was of the far-right, immediately apologised for bringing the party into disrepute and stood down. Sat next to him was Mote who was under investigation by Chichester Council and the Dept. of Work and Pensions for benefit fraud but he did not mention it to the committee. He was duly elected.
He approached the then chairman of UKIP, Petrina Holdsworth, asking that UKIP fund his legal case (i.e. use membership fees and donations). She, quite rightly, refused his request. He was angry because his plan had been thwarted not only by someone who was intellectually superior but a woman. The facts finally came out and he was immediately kicked out of UKIP.
Eventually he was convicted of fraud and sentenced to twelve months in prison. At the next EU elections he asked the BNP if he could stand as an MEP for them (an indication of where he stood politically) but even they turned him down. Some time later he was under investigation again, this time for mortgage fraud. He was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison. Subsequently, his solicitors were investigated regarding where Mote obtained the money to cover his legal fees and the EU investigated him for misuse of his EU allowances.
Mote says that I was Political Assistant to Mr Farage and his political adviser; this is incorrect. I was only Mr Farage’s political assistant running his UK office. Mote tells of my approaching him at a party but I am afraid my recollection is somewhat different. I asked him why he hadn’t said anything about the criminal investigation and his reply was to utter an expletive and stalk off – something which took all of twenty seconds! There was no “tirade” as he suggests.
He maintained that the first criminal charges were brought by ‘The Establishment’ in order to discredit him as an MEP and close down his investigation into EU fraud. This is not true either as he was under investigation by Chichester Council two years before he stood for election so he knew about it before he applied to be a UKIP candidate. The benefit fraud was deemed serious enough for the council to call in the DWP. He states that he owned companies with offices world-wide but there is no evidence to support his claim.
At one point he suggested he join his wife’s cousin in her cleaning business and, after she became suspicious of his accounting methods, she resigned from the company and found that £30,000 had gone missing from the company accounts. He had no scruples as to who he involved in his various schemes including his family; his son narrowly missed being prosecuted for tax fraud due to his involvement in one of his father’s scams. Mote had a severe case of his own self-importance/self-aggrandisement and throughout his life he kept one step ahead of the law until they finally caught up with him. As for ‘A Mote in Brussels’ Eye’ I would take it all with a very big pinch of salt!

I regularly visited Brussels and Strasbourg in my role as pushing the cause for the self-employed and small businesses (which make up over 95% of ALL EU businesses and I became dismayed how many earstwhile people went "native" as soon as their snouts hit the trough!
This book takes the lid off the ant-hill that is now in control of our lives.
Read it and either cry or throw something - preferably at a politician who got us into this mess.

Mr. Mote is another brave man, as well as a true Britisher (of the good sort). Much as we Brits have our faults (and we do!) we often have integrity and decency and some intelligence thrown in, and all these are very apparent in Mr. Mote's account. I don't know if he will ever read these reviews but if he does I would like to thank him and shake his hand, even if over cyberspace.

This book spells out the disaster that is the EU. It is by an MEP who served for 5 years and rocked the boat. He suffered the consequences. I had a visit to the EU at about the time he was in office. I never met Mr Mote but the information given by other MEP's was exactly how he tells it. The question was asked of the MEP's from all parties why the media in the UK did not report it. The UK media was controlled, and not allowed to print or televise. This book explains in graphic detail why.
This book should be compulsory reading for every UK and indeed European individual as it exposes the development of the European empire and will arrive very soon.
Very well done Mr Mote but I fear it is too late.

As a people, unless we are personally involved, we shrug off tales of corruption and mismanagement. It is only when someone is brave enough to shine a searchlight on such happenings, regardless of self, do we take notice. This book does just that and I hope it will go some way in encouraging closer examination of the effect Brussel's power increasingly has over our national way of life.
