Descrição do produto

Jensen Reynolds made a stupid, terrible, mistake years ago when while on a break, he slept with another woman and got her pregnant. He tried to make up for it by marrying her, which meant saying goodbye to the love of his life forever.

Mia is done with men. They’re lying, cheating, scumbags and she doesn’t have time for any of them. That is, until she finds herself in a temporary position, taking photos for the same company that Jensen freelances for.

This is a story about redemption, forgiveness, and how far one will go for a second chance at a love that just won’t fade away.

Sobre o Autor

Claire doesn't like to talk about herself. Because of this, she asked a friend of hers to write her bio. This is what she got:

Claire is caring, smart, witty, and funny as heck. Despite being a New York Times Best Selling Author of a popular contemporary romance series, Claire doesn't read many romance novels. However, when she sits down to write, those are the ones that pour from her fingers. Much to her displeasure, we like to say she's a romantic at heart.

She lives in Miami with her hot husband, two adorable boys, three bulldogs, and two stray cats that she refuses to admit are hers (even though they live on her porch and she continues to feed them). When she's not writing, she's always lost in a book (the more suspenseful, the better).

4.5 Stars!

I have been intrigued by Mia Bennett and Jensen Reynolds ever since meeting them in Claire’s book, Kaleidoscope Hearts. Based on the snippets you get in that book of these two, you know something big has happened, you know Mia is really mad and hurt by something that occurred between her and Jensen, we just didn’t know the whole story yet, so when Claire announced she was going to write Mia and Jensen’s story, I was on board whole heartedly!

Five years ago, Mia suffered what most women would consider the worst kind of betrayal, even though at the time she and Jensen were not a couple. But even though they were not a couple, how do you turn off the feelings that you SHOULD have been a couple, because you’re so much in love with each other? Mia cuts Jensen out of her life because she can’t deal with the hurt, betrayal, devastation that she’s feeling. She shuts off her emotions and buries her feelings, trying to go through each day without Jensen in her life. Jensen does everything he can to get through to Mia, while dealing with the consequences of his actions and trying to be the kind of man he wished his own father had been when he was a child.

Fast forward to current day and Mia finds herself in New York for a job opportunity, knowing full well that Jensen is there and that she’ll be working for the same magazine that he works for. Now that they’re thrust together working on a project, Jensen goes into full blown “operation get Mia back” mode. I have to give Jensen major kudos; he does a lot of all the right things to win a girl back. Mia certainly doesn’t make it easy for Jensen though, and I am really glad that Claire wrote their journey as a long, bumpy road, not a smooth seamless reconnection that would have felt way too easy in my eyes.

Claire writes this story in two POV’s with Mia telling the majority of the story, and Jensen contributing chapters via his weekly column in The Times newspaper. It was genius how Jensen answered questions sent in via Twitter that perfectly fit in with what was going on with he and Mia at that point in the story.

This was definitely a very emotional read. Lots of feelings during this story: anger, hurt, betrayal, sadness, guilt, jealousy, but then also, hope, love, lust, passion, and eventually happiness. Lots of people will debate whether Jensen deserves a second chance. He pulls out all the stops in trying to win Mia back, but he also did something five years ago that changed lives in a huge way, so how do you convince the girl of your dreams you can still be together and have the future you’ve always thought you would have, it’s just altered a little now?

Even though Paper Hearts is a standalone, I highly recommend reading Kaleidoscope Hearts first; to get the little snippets we get of Mia and Jensen. Then read Torn Hearts, which is a prequel novella that gives you the full backstory of exactly what happened to Mia and Jensen five years before the start of Paper Hearts. Torn Hearts is included in the beginning of Paper Hearts, in case you didn't read it separately when Claire offered it as a free book on Amazon. I was truly sad when Paper Hearts ended, because I really wanted more and more of Mia and Jensen’s story. But I was comforted in the fact that, as Jensen says to Mia when she asks him how his story ends:

“Real love stories never end.” **Sigh**

5.0 de 5 estrelas I had a feeling I would love this book 9 de setembro de 2015
Por Christy Baldwin BBU - Publicada na Amazon.com

After reading this story, I am blown away. I had a feeling I would love this book. I love all Claire’s books. She writes with so much feeling and emotion, I can’t help but to fall in love with her stories. Paper Hearts left me with such a book hangover. I’ve read a few books since and it’s still on my mind. I highlighted more in this book than any other. Pages and pages of quotes. I can’t rave enough about this gorgeous story. Every chapter was special- every page, every word. It was all beyond incredible. I loved Mia, Jensen, and their second chance romance so much!

When Jensen and Mia were younger, they were inseparable. They were in love. A real and true forever kind of love. When Jensen went off to college, things changed. He made one choice that changed both of their lives forever. It’s been years since the two of them were a couple. Since they were best friends and the most important person to the other. Now they’re in the same city again, and old feelings come to the surface.

Jensen knows the mistake he made was huge, but he wants another chance with the only woman he’s ever truly loved. He wants Mia. As much as Mia tries to deny it, Jensen is still the only man she’s truly loved. But how do you move forward and forgive someone that shattered your heart? It’s not easy, but it may be possible…

Mia and Jensen were both amazing characters. After reading Torn Hearts, I wasn’t sure if I could ever 100% forgive Jensen or move on from that. It hurt my heart- I can’t even imagine trying to forgive and move past something like that. Any time I wanted Mia to give the poor guy a break, I remembered how I felt when I read that scene… and I completely sympathized with her. When it comes down to it, Jensen was not perfect. He made one choice and had to live with the consequences. He more than made up for that decision. He was incredibly romantic when it came to Mia. His writing in the story was wonderful.

Some of my most favorite parts of the book were those chapters that featured Jensen’s column. It was great to get in his head and see what he was thinking and feeling. I absolutely loved all his ‘thoughts’

Aside from Mia and Jensen, it was great to catch up with the rest of the gang from KH. I especially loved Mia’s brother, Rob and her parents. They brought some much needed laughs to the story. And any scene with Olivia was also fantastic.

Paper Hearts is by far the most engaging, well-written and stunning story I’ve read this year. Claire’s writing is brilliant. This story moved me. It’s made it’s way to the very top of my favorites list and I can’t wait for everyone to read it and fall in love with Mia and Jensen just as I did!

4.0 de 5 estrelas I think that Jensen and Mia are my favorite couple so far 22 de fevereiro de 2017

I think that Jensen and Mia are my favorite couple so far. Their relationship has a long history and an even longer future. Torn Hearts is the history of Jensen and Mia. I highly recommend that you read that book before you read Paper Hearts. I fell in love with this book cover to cover. The chapters were divided into "Mia" and "Jensen Talks." I was a little disappointed because of the format that the Jensen Talks chapters were in. Maybe it was the type of device I was using, but I found it very difficult to read those chapters the way they were typed. Because of that, I skimmed those parts of the book and felt like I was missing out a little. Overall, excellent story. Definitely recommend!

5.0 de 5 estrelas This Is A Beautiful Story of Second-Chance Love! 19 de outubro de 2015
Por Kristin B. - Publicada na Amazon.com

I just finished reading Paper Hearts and it left me with a happy, fulfilled, and satisfied feeling that I love to get when I finish reading a book about second-chance love. I really enjoyed Kaleidoscope Hearts and I was delighted to see that there was another book with the same characters in it. Paper Hearts is Mia and Jensen's story and it was nothing short of amazing. I could tell that they loved each other even after everything they had been through and it's obvious that Jensen wants to be with Mia but Mia doesn't seem so sure that she should be with him. I could feel her indecision and how much she loves him but she seems to convince herself that she needs to move back home to Santa Barbara instead of staying in New York, where they both currently live. I always believe that the heart knows what it wants and I was so happy to see Mia follow her heart even though her life doesn't quite turn out how she plans. I like Claire Contreras' writing style and the sarcasm and humor she uses because I laughed out loud a number of times! I felt that this book flowed really well and I had a hard time putting it down. If you've read Kaleidoscope Hearts, I would highly recommend reading Paper Hearts because it was another wonderfully-written book by Claire Contreras!
3.0 de 5 estrelas 3 meh stars 17 de setembro de 2015

Overall Opinion: I have been in a funk lately and this didn't get me out of it. I have been expecting a lot out of the newly released books and have been disappointed. This was especially disappointing because I really liked the first book in the series, Kaleidoscope Hearts...but this was just kind of meh.

Storyline: This is Mia and Jensen's story. They have known each other since they were kids, and were a long term couple until Jensen left for NY to go to college. They decided to see other people but with the idea that they would get back together after they reunite. Jensen ends up getting a girl pregnant accidentally and this shatters Mia. They meet again 5 years later when Mia goes to NY for a job as a photographer at the magazine Jensen writes for. The sparks fly, and it is obvious that feelings are still there for both of them. After some major pursuing done by Jensen, Mia finally gives them a chance to work through their issues. With some sexy times, cute times with his daughter Olivia, and some time apart too...the couple find their HEA.

POV: This was in Mia's POV with some chapters being Jensen's article so it was from his POV for those.

Overall Pace of Story: Ok. I would have liked more time with them as a successful couple. We start the story with them in love, so I also would've liked to get a little bit more of the relationship development.

H rating: 4 stars. Jensen. I liked how honest he was about his feelings and how he never gave up on getting Mia back.

h rating: 3 stars. Mia. She was just ok for me (I think I liked her better in the first book).

Sadness level: Moderate. I shed a few tears in this one, but not as many as I was expecting.

Heat level: Low/moderate. Some steamy times, but they were kind of meh.

Descriptive sex: Yes.

Closure: This had a couple epilogues that were cute, but I still wanted more. This goes back to what I mentioned in the "pace of story" section -- I wanted more time with the couple being successfully together. When stories are like this where we do not have much time with them as an actual couple -- I expect an exceptional epilogue, and I sadly don't think this was one.
