After reading the first three books, I could not wait to read Katherine's story, even more after reading that sneak peek at the end of the third book. I never imagined those two together but they fitted so well, it was just beautiful! I loved seeing that group again, those parts where they were together were the most fun and I kept smiling the whole time.
Katherine was always a mystery to me. She had her rules and followed them strictly. I would've never imagined how her life changed in just one night and how everything worked out perfectly. She discovered her new self, the one that was always in hiding and waiting for the perfect time to come out and it was amazing. Theo, Tommy's brother, even though they were twins, they couldn't be more different. They just looked the same, the rest was completely different and that was great because Theo matched perfectly with Katherine.
I loved it! The epilogue was amazing! I don't know how to keep going without more of this series, I love these characters. I have to confess that my favorite couple continues to be Tommy and Amelia, they have my whole heart and I love them the most. Even though I would read more and more about these characters, I'm happy with this final book. It was really the perfect final book to this incredible journey.
This book is the perfect ending to a perfect series. I seriously loved all of them, but I think this might be my favourite. To watch the transition from Katherine to Kate, to see how Theo always accepted her for exactly who she was... well. It was absolutely lovely and amazing. I loved the idea of this series from the very start, the idea of different FMC who are not usually the norm, who are not exactly the sociable, outgoing FMCs we usually see. And seeing them grow into themselves, learning to be more, learning that they ARE more than the tight little spot society threw them in. Watching them grow, bloom and flourish was heartwarming. And to watch each and every one of them fine their perfect matches. Well. Absolutely brilliant, really. I bow to Staci Hart with this series. And I look forward to reading much more of her work. Because they touch the heart, they are full, meaningful and beautiful. And quite worth the read.
Katherine is practical. She loves rules, order and routine. Theo learned from a very young age that to achieve something in life, sacrifices, efforts and hard work are the way. A night out, dancing and a group of friends in common will bring them closer. With high pheromones, this couple will end up spending the night together. And a while later, the adrenaline, oxytocin and dopamine will be responsible for unexpected news. Theo tried in vain to keep in touch with Katherine, but she rejected any attempt. Katherine does not want a relationship. She does not believe in love, marriage, and soul mates. When faced with pregnancy, her rational brain will anticipate all the steps to be taken and communicate the father of the child is the first task. To say Theo will be shocked is euphemism, but maybe that's the chance he's been waiting to get closer to Katherine. And with two such different people having to learn to live together, the journey will not always be easy. The book has no big twists, big surprises. Last book in the Red Lipstick Coalition series, this volume addresses a couple dealing with a pregnancy, in how the arrival of a baby affects each individual. Maybe this was the most humane book in the series. Theo was the perfect knight in shining armor. His devotion to others, his desire to form a family, and his love for Katherine and his daughter made him an unforgettable character. However, I could not connect with Katherine. Her analytical, austere, almost robotic personality created situations in which I wanted to shake the character to see if she would have any reaction, to demonstrate some emotion. The other characters in the series appear in the story, we can follow a little of their lives. The new characters were relevant to the narrative, creating a bit of tension at times. Well suited is a good ending to the series. Theo had already aroused interest in the previous book and it was a pleasure to follow his journey. Katherine has always been the most mysterious of the girls, the character though appeared in the other books has never had much focus, never stood out. Perhaps for this reason it has been difficult to understand and even accept her. It was even harder to forgive her for breaking Theo's heart. Theo's immense love saved the book. And worth every minute.
