<REVIEW>MUSE OF NIGHTMARES • • • ⭐️:5,0 + LOVE/5,0 • • 💬: This book broke my heart, but it also made me hopeful. We start in a awful moment, where Lazlo things everything good in his life just died right in front of him. But of course nothing is that simple, he needs to deal with Minya, with the other gods pawns and of course, with the ghost of the woman he loves.
There was a story, a story about two sisters that lost each other along the way and one of them went through thousands of year desperately trying to find each other. Nova and Kora would never meet though, we find early in the story that Kora didn’t survived...but at least she helped a baby escape his destined end. It was so beautiful and yet so painful to know Nova’s whole story, I felt what she felt and even though I would never do the things she’d done, I understand them.
The way Laini’s builds Sarai’s and Nova’s story entwined is really interesting and amazing to watch them come together. As well, as some information about the world we read on other books by her, Daughter of Smoke and Bone. It brought me a sense of nostalgia.
I loved many relationships got explored, and how Thyon Nero plays a important part on this second book. After being an obnoxious bastard on the first one because of his jealousy he finally got the chance to have a redemption arc, and that’s what he gets!!!! I have a weakness towards people who are good inside but only show their ugliness, always wanting them to do the right thing and yadayada.
There is so much more that can be explored in this world that the author created, and I love the fact that she left some things to be talked about on possible future books. The end was satisfactory and I was yelling through the last half of the book almost non-stop. This duology caught me by surprise and it’s one of my favorite reads ever, Muse is definitely on my fave reads of 2019 and I can’t wait to see more from Laini!
