Oh what a sweet and adorable way to start a new series. I'm in love already.
Frannie and Mack were amazing together, their chemistry was all consuming and their respect for each other was inspiring.
Mack has a lot of baggage. Burned before by a difficult marriage and an even more difficult ex-wives, he is faced with a new reality: being a single parent of three girls since the woman decided to up and left all of them (that's right, the girls included).
So the last thing in his mind is to pursue a relationship with the nanny, that is also his boss's daughter and 10 years younger. But that doesn't keep him from fantasizing about sweet Frannie.
She is adorable, loyal, a pleaser by nature, and totally reliable. She is dreamy and vulnerable, but she is also strong and, at her own way and speed, she fights for what she wants, the same way she fought for her life when she was a kid.
And the girls? Oh my, I loved them. They are all so loud, vivacious, huggable. They've been through a lot since their mother left, but they love and trust in Mack with all they have, and they also learnt that it was so safe to love Frannie too.
It was so beautiful, because the story was told in such a real way, with so many relatable feelings. The way Mack tried and failed, and felt guilty for all his responsabilities and his love for the kids. The way He and Frannie tried to find a balance between them and everything else.
The way he was so scared that his kids could get hurt and how he was even more scared that he himself would get hurt again.
And what got to me was the way they realized that a willing heart could conquer all, and that some things and feelings were just too irresistible .
I should probably start saying that I loooove books with single parents. Is one of my favorite tropes. So when I first found that one of my unicorn authors was going to release a book about a single father, and that Mack was the proud dad of three little girls, I laughed out loud and said ¨Poor guy. He's gonna have his a** kicked so bad... This will be fun!¨. The thing is, I had no idea of how much I'd end up loving the book.
The story is flawless and the characters are incredible.
Mack is a sweet, very hot, a little bit complicated guy, easy to fall in love with. He's gonna give you all the "Put-A-Ring-On-It" feels. At the same time, you'll just want to grab him by the shoulders and say ¨Wake up, dude!¨.
The girls are so sweet, so adorable, so freaking hilarious! That swear jar must be something huge! They'll probably be able to go to college, travel the world and buy a big house for each one of them by the age of 25, just with the amount of money inside the jar (Thank God I don't live in that house, otherwise the jar would have to be replaced every week! LOL)
Now Frannie... You'll girl crush so hard over Frannie! She's everyone's superhero. She can help anyone out in every kind of situation, always with a smile on her face. If there's an award for Most Caring Character, it should belong to Frannie. She feels less about herself, since her siblings achieved so much in their lives, while she stayed the same, living in the same city, in the same house. Frannie lived a sheltered life, thanks to her overprotective parents, that were always worried about her health. --- I'll stop right here and say that you need to read the book to find out why.
Mack is Frannie's crush since forever, but he never paid much attention to her (it seems like it). Maybe is because she's ten years younger than him. Maybe is because he works for her father, and they all work together, like a big familly. Or maybe is because Mack is so freaking busy all the time, struggling to keep three little girls healthy and alive (or trying to survive said three little girls)... Poor guy!
The chemistry between these two is jaw dropping. Seriously! And the way Frannie fits perfectly in the familly is heart warming. Prepare to laugh out loud and swoon... hard!
Thank you sooooo much for writing this story, Melanie! I can't wait to read more about the Sawyer sisters. And thanks for bringing Miles back. I've missed that guy!
Final warning: I'm calling dibs on Mack. I'm sure Frannie won't mind ;)
Another book from Melanie that I couldn't put it down. The story is addicting. It's exciting, funny, sweet, hot...I loved every part of it. I can't wait to read others book from Melanie. This one is absolutely amazing. I LOVED it!
