Charisma hates her ex! After watching her mother repeatedly forgive her cheating father and being humiliated by her teenage crush for being chubby, she began to preserve her heart and avoided falling in love. But the only time she let her guard down, Blaze broke her heart and self-esteem, breaking up with her in front of everyone at a fraternity party. Now, unfortunately she is forced to spend time with him as they are having a class together and are partners in this class, and has to put up with Blaze wanting to be her friend.
After his careless, drug-addicted parents died in a car accident, Blaze was raised by his uncle and aunt, who though not rude or bad, always treated him as a hindrance even when he tried to be the best son in the world. Blaze gives his best in everything, college, football, friendships, he wants to be thebest and please everyone; but when he finds himself in love with Charm, he breaks up with her to avoid a broken heart when she leaves him (when, not if, since everyone leaves him). But when he sees the opportunity to have Charisma again in his life, he can't let the opportunity pass, not when she's all he ever wanted.
Blaze and Charm have to face their fears and insecurities to get a new chance together, this time in a real and super intense relationship. Both will have to learn to trust each other and themselves.
I can't not love a college story, New adults are the best romance books, and this one was mega cute. I started the book hating Blaze, and I didn't think I'd like him, but I was wrong. I fell madly in love with him! Charisma, I identified from the beginning. what a strong girl! Even when she was down, she pretended to look great and cold and wouldn't let anyone step on her! what a example of woman! Sometimes it's hard to let your guard down and trust your heart to others, but when it happens, it can be wonderful, and they've both shown that taking a chance is worth it!
