Harper Lee deserved the Pulitzer - merits her one-shot place in world literature

Astounding novel for a seasoned writer, unbelievable novel for a first timer. Personal and interpersonal relationships evolve with perceptive insight. I should have read this book some 30 years ago. On the other hand, reading it now may have made be more aware of the depth of Atticus Finch's philosophy.
The physical book is somewhat shoddy, but this is made clear in the publisher's notes. I likely will buy a more pleasant edition for my permanent shelves. Note: I haven't seen a Portuguese translation, but ain't no way Alabama and region could come thru without major misunderstandings. Read it in English if you can,
