I have to be honest. I'm absolutely loving this series of graphic novels and have already ordered the rest now.
I wasn't sure if this one was going to be as good as King had dropped out and I didn't know the reason why. After reading it I don't think it has suffered at all. The storyline is captivating and we see some old characters coming back for both storyline's.
The book is split in two. We have one storyline set in Vegas where we get to meet Skinner Sweet and Felicity Book again which I loved. The only complaint I have is that there wasn't enough of the angry vampire (extended fingers and detached jaw) however the storyline and artwork was excellent.
The second story we see what Henry and Pearl have made of themselves and a surprise old character pops back up but I'm not telling you who as I hate spoilers. This was also an excellent addition and again the artwork was fantastic.
I'd struggle to say anything bad about this book. It is a bit smaller than the first one and I did read it pretty quick but I still felt I got my money's worth and as I said earlier it was good enough for me to pick up the rest of them.
Again loved this volume even though Kings "Skinner" is handled by someone else. Art work is 9/10 especially the Las Vegas side of things. It is one of the short volumes so finished it in one go. This volume brings some new characters into play and as you read along you will understand they are all important. "Cash" did stand out for me on this one and it is a recommended read.
American Vampire is an amazingly different and new take on vampires in the 21st century which has been saturated with weird sparkling vampire romance stories(not taking any names but you know who you are). The gritty plot goes very well with the rustic art by Albuquerque. I enjoyed this book very much and look forward to getting to the next volume. Scott Snyder is perhaps the best writer of this decade and this book is one of the reasons why. The condition of the book wss solid and I received it within 4 days. Great buy, do check it out.
Scott Snyder is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. My wife showed this to me when the single issues started. I quickly shrugged it off as just another vampire story in a day when all we get is chezzy vampires.
Wow, I was wrong. The characters are excellent, the art is supperb, and this story will keep us coming back for more.
Snyder is attempting to create a whole world populated by many races of Vampires. He does this very well. His main characters are Skinner Sweet, and Pearl Jones. Two very different characters trying to exist in the same world.
I can't speak highly enough about this series.
Amazon does not have the 1st book in stock at the moment. I do recommend waiting to read that one first. Stephen KIng writes Skinner's origin for that book.
There's not a lot of good graphic novels for vampire fans so this is a must read if that's what you like. The story continues from book 1 but it could be read as a stand alone. Stephen King does not contribute to this volume but you wouldn't notice as you wouldn't have noticed that he did contribute to the first unless you knew.
Snyder è diventato famoso con questa serie, creata con l'aiuto di S. King, a base di vampiri. Sicuramente un volume interessante e soprattutto conveniente visto che contiene due Tp pubblicati in Italia ad un prezzo conveniente:)
