The title and synopsis seemed to indicate this book was a serious attempt to answer what is, for many people of faith, a huge question: why does it so often seem that God is absent when we need Him. One possible answer to that question is that God isn't absent - he's just working to a different time frame to us and 'making us wait' in the process.
The first few pages of the book were engaging telling a story which, though somewhat cliche, certainly made the point that God doesn't always step in when we want Him to but when He is ready (or when He sees that we are fully ready). From that promising opening things go downhill a bit with a couple of half anecdotes and a few Bible texts strung together in the manner of an old-time vicar.
Then, just when you think the introduction is over and the author is about to get really stuck into his subject - the 'book' ends!
Nothing more than a short pamphlet, I'd advise anyone interested in this subject that there is more content which deals more thoroughly with the subject available in many daily devotional readings. This is disappointing because there are hints in this book that the author has the ability and insight to go much deeper - if only he'd bothered.
I loved this book. He was truly inspired by God. I don’t even have words to describe how good it is. Sometimes as Christians, we ask ourselves why God is making us wait or why he isn’t answering. This book is going to help you so you can be able to wait and even appreciate that season. It is a must for every Christian.
I found this book very enlightening. Through many trials lb my life, I have prayed for help but then became impatient or disappointed that things didn't go as I wanted. This book has helped me realize that it did work out just as God had planned. I am also learning to allow God to show me what he has planned and to be patient, keep praying and to be so thankful and grateful for all the blessings especially all the small ones that sometimes can mean more than I realize. Thank you for this book.
Actually I'm giving it 3 3/4 star. Yet I still recommend that you purchase it. Adam seemed to go from just O.K. in his writing to being rather profound. He's definitely anointed to write, but he seems to lack consistency. Plus the book had some errors in it (pretty common in eBooks) editorial wise.
So why do I recommend it? I really felt God speaking to me through the writing in some places. Some parts touched my heart. And it's only like .99. I mean, I spend $2.22 some mornings at the local Shell station for coffee and a snack. I'm thinking if Adam got paid $2.99 or more for his books like he deserves, he could turn out something amazing. O.K., once again, buy the book. You're going to get something good out of it. God will connect with you through this book.
And thank you Adam for putting out so many books. We need somebody to offset all the junk that's out there!
I have recommended this book to numerous people, as a senior adult of 80 years with Heart failure " PLUS", and 54 years of pastorate ministry, my time is rapidly running out, but this book answered questions I have pondered and if others will read it, they too can have a more abundant life.
Some of the information in this book was very informative however, something that was said I don't quite agree with. Here is an example: the author says, the reader should ask God......Why? I totally disagree with that statement completely. Asking God why is wrong in my opinion because something if we ask why then the answer we might get May upset us. I'm just saying. I did enjoy reading this book. The part I really enjoyed was the very beginning. It touched my heart, made me laugh and I wanted to cry. I believe God can, God will and Nothing is impossible or to hard for MY GOD LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
I do not know where to start. I started reading this book because I am waiting for my Boaz. I am waiting for my husband, my godly husband. I know that I have been impatient and I have been making the wrong decisions, doing the wrong things, and doing things my way and in my time. I know that I need to be waiting on the Lord. While reading this book I've had tears in my eyes, I've been on my knees praying, and I've been praising. I know that I need to spend my time praising and worshiping God while I wait for his blessings. This book truly opened my eyes and my heart where I have had a heartfelt talk with the Lord. I would recommend this book to anyone who's going through trials, anyone who's waiting for a husband or wife or to be delivered from anything. This book is a must read.
Is good to know that we aren’t wasting time! God is up to make us diferente by transform us in a better version of us for his glory let us give our will to him so we can glorify him in every way that the world may see Jesus in us! Thank you Adan for letting God used you to explain very beautiful way something that make us feel so frustrated at times. If you are interested in getting a better version of you this is the book to start that transformation I recommend highly!
Excellent read. Very encouraging. I feel God had me read this book at just the right time. I've been very discouraged lately in my 'waiting' time. I'd started to doubt what I knew to be God's guidance of the past. Thanks so much for this wonderful reminder to wait. This auhthor is definitely on my 'to read , list. I will be reading this to my son tomorow.
