I am really annoyed at myself right now. I have read this amazing book twice already, how have i not reviewed it? I review pretty much everything I read. Well the answer is simple, once you get drawn into Ivy's world of books life goes out of the window and you find yourself reading from one book to the next, and before you know it you've read all thirty+ of her books and are still hungry for more.
So this book follows Mason, who we meet in the Hunted and Light to my darkness series, not to mention in the newer Empire high series. I absolutely love this guy, he is just brimming with personality, as is Bee, the love interest, the two could not be more different, Mason is a play boy with a kinky streak and somewhat darker desires, and Bee is a future cat lady, let down by love, hurt, passionate, and ambitious and the last thing she needs is to find herself on a date with the biggest player in New York. Well, hold on to your hats, because this book will take you on an amazing ride you won't soon forget, and you know what, it's just as amazing the second time around.
This is another one of those books i read on KU, and ended up buying because the books are just so damn good.
I couldn't even finish this, I got to chapter nine and gave up. I hate weak women and our protagonist fawns all over the chauvinistic leading man. They've just met, he's been a prick already, but she easily forgives him, because he's just so gosh darn handsome. He then orders for her, she acts all indignant and asks 'what if I'm a vegetarian?' To which he replied 'you like meat in your mouth'. And that is where I stopped, because any man who acts like that when you first meet should be avoided like the plague.
I couldn't get into this book. I tried to carry on reading but it just wasn't for me. I also didn't understand the difference in relationship for Mason and his parents. They were portrayed very differently in the Hunted series. Although, it might be explained later in the book but couldn't bring myself to carry on reading.
Loved this book and Mason & Bee are a fab couple. This book is a link in to my favourite book couple James & Penny from The Hunted series. This sidesteps in to his best friend Mason and shows who he was before and after meeting Bee. The Men of Manhattan is another great series from Ivy and all brilliant books.
I loved Bee, she was brave, innocent, funny, sexy and caring. Mason was a real player from the start, selfish, arrogant, no woman was going to say no to him. Well Bee did and that's just the beginning.
Brilliant story. Loved the relationship between Mason and Bee. Great to read how both of them learnt to love after a difficult start. Would have been nice to have read more about their lives; did they get married, have children etc but the it all the same
