The final addition to my, 'how the hell have I not left a review for this book yet?' reviews is for the third book in the amazing Ivy Smoak's Men of Manhattan series. Although I'll be honest, I've spotted a few more books that slipped by unreviewed, but I plan to give then another read and a proper review. I mean, it's what they deserve after all. (Sorry Ivy - your books are just so good i get swept away by them)
It's hard review this book without including spoilers from The Hunted Series, so before you feast your eyes on this short and sweet summary if you haven't already read the amazing series, start there.
Missing Pieces follows Tyler's journey of self discovery. Torn and heartbroken, he has made a decision that will affect the rest of his life, and it all starts with a road trip. What he didn't expect to find on this journey was the one thing he had been missing. Her name is Hayley, and she's joining him on the road in a desperate attempt to save everything she loves. She needs to find hope, he needs to find himself, but together they find each other. This is a really sweet book that gives you a glimpse into Tyler's past that also sheds some light on the boy we first meet in the Hunted series.
i read this originally on KU and ended up buying it on my second read through.
This is an epic story of an all-consuming insta-love that just blew me away.
I usually find insta-love stories a bit unbelievable, but this story made me a believer. There is just something so real about Tyler and Hailey. Both of them are battered and broken by life, but together they are each other’s missing pieces.
Having a road trip as the setting for their intense romance worked so well. Being forced to spend time together just got things moving along nicely. But the author doesn’t skimp on the story or the details. It’s a good chunk of a book which I really enjoyed sinking my teeth into.
I could go into detail over the plot, but I won’t. Just read the blurb and dive right in. The book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions but just trust that their destination is exactly where they’re meant to be.
I think this book is a standalone but some characters in this book is from The Hunted series about a girl named penny falling for her professor and tyler stevens is her friend who fell in love and lost penny to professor hunter, anyway this book is Hailey & Tyler's story, and it is brilliant,i have always liked tyler in the hunted series and am so glad he has and finds the love of his life.Tyler takes a road trip and stops in a bar and meets Hailey, herself just finding out that her father has cancer and have no money for his treatment, she decides to tag along with Tyler so she can go to a relative and ask for help with money for her father. They stop at different places on the way and get closer to each other and fall in love ,not knowing that Tyler has joined the marine corps. Its also nice to hear how Penny and Professor Hunter are doing as they have parts in this book as well.xx
