I can't believe I'm saying goodbye to this series, one of the best series I've ever read! But at the same time, I was so excited and expectant for this book, I was torn between reading it fast to devour each word, but not reading fast enough so the book wouldnt come to an end.
For those who have beeing following them since Alex and Violet (Pucked), we've been waiting for Darren and Charlene's books since the very beginning. With each chapter, couple and book, I was more and more intrigued by the kinky-closed-sexy couple.
And Pucked Love was everything I was hoping for and so, oh so much more! The author said she wrote it with her seatbelt off, and reading it was just like that: wild, reckless, adventurous, overwhelming, freeing.
I laughed out loud, I felt unshed tears in my eyes, I felt broken, I felt alive, I felt pain, I felt love, I felt hopelesness, I felt a second chance, I felt overwhelmed, I felt like I wanted even more. I felt it all!
Darren and Charlene were surpring. They weren't the kinky couple every one thought them to be. They were free in bed, but they were so much deeper than that. They connected in so many levels, even if they tried so hard to keep their walls up. And boy, did they both have walls!
But the beauty thing is, as the book progressed, so did they, so did their love, and they didn't do it alone. They did it with each other, they did it with each of their friends, that are their family. It was a love story, and they certainly were the main characters, but they weren't the only ones, and if the other guys and girls weren't so close giving their own kind of suport, their story wouldn't be the same.
Whatever it was they needed to overcome, they did it with the right, crazy, loud group.
And the cool thing is, with every character, with every curve of the plot, with every funny or shocking or loving or revolting surprise, the miryad of emotions was so complet and so strong and it wasn't just comedy. It was the whole package.
"I waited my entire adult life for you to come along and make sense of my world. I'm prepared to wait as long as I need to for you to accept that"
I think this author is the funniest I have ever read (and I know she can write a heck of an angsty book), but even with all the funny parts, this book also brought healing, trust, emotional growth, loyalty, strength, hope. The plot was complete.
Darren and Charlene both carries baggage no one else has the tiniest clue about, so their broken pieces are just the perfect match to mend together.
"All her broken pieces and bent edges fit with mine"
I couldn't think of a better couple to end the greatness that is this series, they were that one final act at the play that leaves you breathless and hoping for more. I know it's the last book, but I hope, I do hope, that their stories don't end now. Their jar are lidless.
And when they show up again, I'll be waiting to soak every word!
